J-co Vader and the Ballerina

It has come to our attention that Jensen has a little crush on a girl at Mother's Day Out named Scarlett! (Let's hope they don't get married - Scarlett O'Hara!!). She is a cute little blonde girl who appears to be a few months older than him. When mom drops him off at school, he squeals in delight. "Sca-lett, Sca-lett". In my opinion he is waaaaaay too young for girl crushes. Yikes!!! Mom said they flirt with each other and smile. During the summer, they have apparently bonded, because they are the only 2 big kids left in the class. The others are babies.
Every Thursday at MDO, they have a theme for the day. Yesterday was costume day. Jensen dressed up as Darth Vader. (Thanks to Brandon's Halloween costume from last year). When J-co got to school, my mom told him she would let him hold his phazer if he wore his hat in and that he would have "super powers". I guess he bought it!

As soon as he got inside, him and Scarlett were grinning and checking each other out! Unbelievable! He is 19 months old - come on! LOL!
Watch out Maddy and Riley, you 2 girls have some competition!

18 months old!!! Where does the time go......

Jensen has finally hit the 18 month mark. It is insane how fast time flies. I can remember the days when he was dependent on me and I fed him formula all day long. The days where he would fall fast asleep on my chest. It just brings tears to my eyes! I will definitely cherish those memories forever. Each phase of his life brings something new, interesting and exciting though.

Jensen is growing up to be a very smart little boy. He practically repeats everything you say. It is funny because all his words sound like questions. The word starts out low and gets increasingly high pitched at the end! Some of his words are, mama, dada, mommy, daddy, papa, nanny, mammy, glammy, mia, poppy, megan, jj (aj), dog, cat, bird, duck, chloe, gemma, bye, see you, up please, down please, MINE, baby, juice, milk, bath, diaper, clean, cookie, bob (the builder), elmo, oscar, fish, bottle, nina, ethan, about half the alphabet he can repeat, the list goes on. He knows if you say 1, he will then say 2 and if you say 2 he will say 3.
He enjoys watercoloring and coloring. Sometimes he decides to eat them, which is not very tasty! He has 4 top front teeth, he is getting a molar on the upper left side. He has 3 front teeth on the bottom and a back molar on the bottom left and right. The teething process has been extremely slow and painful. Not only for him, but for his parents!!
He has battled about 4 or 5 ear infections this year. If he gets another one, we are going to the specialist. :( Jensen goes back for a re-check on his ears soon, so we will see what the outcome is.

He is probably over 24 pounds now and about 32 1/2 inches. I honestly have no clue how he even weighs that much, because he is not interested in eating much. He has become quite opionated when it comes to eating. He used to love everything under the sun. That has definitely changed. He is big on all kinds of fruits, which is nice. Veggies, not so much! He does not like a lot of meat either. He used to devour pastas - not anymore. He does like eggs and grilled cheese sandwiches. I ended up starting him on Flinstone vitamins.
I am so lucky, because my mom is still watching J-co while I work. We have been so blessed she has taken on this huge responsiblity! I feel bad for her because lately he has developed a bit of a temper and is more independent than ever! I think we are moving into the "terrible 2s" already! We shall see how this progresses!

For Jensen's 18 month pictures, we took him to Old Town Spring. Since he is so mobile, it was a great place for him to check everything out. He looked absolutely gorgeous in his pics. He looks like a little model!

We also wanted to do some family shots in the Woodlands a few weeks after these were taken. It ended up just being me and Jensen. Justin was called into mandatory overtime and had to miss out. I have a sneak peek of the pictures and they look fantastic!

We are trying to stay busy this summer and do something fun for the little man constantly. We've checked out some nice parks in the area. A lot of pool time. Unfortunatley we can't take too many walks in this 100 degree weather.

This past weekend he went to the Aquarium with me, Jodi and Ethan and then on Sunday to the pool. Next weekend we will be checking out the Children's Museum in Houston. We are looking forward to that! And probably some more pool time.

Until next time......

Megan's Wedding pics

Thought I would share some other photos from Megan's wedding!

The Ring Bearer and the Chocolate Rubber Ducky

As a lot of you know, my little sis Megan was married over the weekend (April 25th). She was brave enough to ask my little man to be Ring Bearer. This has been a task at hand trying to figure out exactly HOW he would get down the entire aisle! Lo and behold, my fabulous mom had a brilliant idea! She bought a chocolate rubber ducky that is yellow with an orange beak and black beady eyes! It looks like the real thing. Unfortunately someone showed the candy monster (jensen) the duck BEFORE he was supposed to walk down the aisle which caused a bit of a temper tantrum. He was biting the box, ferociously trying to get the the "prize". Finally we just let him have it as he was waiting to make his grand appearance! Jensen was not really concerned with his actual "task" as the ring bearer; which was carrying the pillow. He just wanted the chocolate! I think he takes after his Glammy, because Mommy over here does not like Chocolate!

As a part of the wedding party, we all dressed up for the occasion. I was the Matron of Honor, Justin was an Usher and of course Jensen was the ring bearer or chocolate rubber ducky holder! The O'Hara clan was looking mighty fine that evening! Justin even wore pink!!!

After all of the sugar Jensen consumed and all of the people, lights and music......he was on HYPER mode!!! He ran and ran all over the place. We probably walked 3 miles throughout the evening! Jensen was especially interested in the speakers where the music was blaring out of! He kept walking up to the speaker and "head banging". That is his form of "dancing". He was definitely the life of the party and a hit with all the ladies. He thinks he is as big as everybody, so he would just get on the dance floor in the middle of everyone and start busting a move. I think he picked up some new moves over the weekend! He is now swiveling his hips all around!!!

By around 11pm, that was it! It was 2 1/2 hours past his bedtime and I believe he was just plain delirious by that point. He was running full speed across the dance floor heading straight to the speaker and then he fell flat on his face! Poor baby was just lying there, not moving and bawling his eyes out. I picked him up and there was the blood! He had busted open his upper lip. Luckily the teeth were still intact! After that, we decided to call it a night.

We had a great time and I know Jensen had a blast! Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. AJ Boren!!!! Thanks for letting us be a part of such a spectacular event!

Mr. Outdoors

Hello all!!! It's been awhile since we posted anything. Jensen has been doing great, besides the fact he keeps getting ear infections. He has his 3rd ear infection of the year! We may end up doing tubes if it keeps up. I also think he might be cutting more teeth. Currently he has 4 on the top and 2 on the bottom.

He is so mobile now and loves to constantly walk around in circles. I have contemplated putting a pedometer on him to see how much he actually walks, because he never sits still! His new love is the outdoors. He has become one with nature!!! If he sees the door open up to "outside" he is running towards it. If you don't let him out, he will throw a fit! Boys!!! He's still big into dancing as well. He now climbs on top of the coffee table and dances on there.

Jensen is also trying to talk a lot! Some of the words that are understandable are cookie, izzar (lizzard), light, bubbles, baby, hey, that, what's that, who's that, dank u (thank you), che (cheese). He constantly babbles!!!

Most recently we took Jensen to Old MacDonald's Farm in Humble. He absolutely loved that place. Anything outdoors! They have tons of animals he was able to pet, he rode on a pony, chased a peacock and a turkey, and played on the playground. Oh yes, and I forgot to mention he got to eat a pickle! He loves sour things like pickles, lemons and limes. I guess he gets it from his mama, because I like sour candy.
On April 25th, he is going to be a ring bearer in my sister's wedding. That should definitely be interesting. I don't know how we will get him to walk down the aisle. I have to start brainstorming! He doesn't like his hand held, so it will be tricky. Mom suggested a wagon, but he might climb out. I'm open to suggestions! ;)

Hope everyone is doing great!

Jensen the ONE year old TODDLER!!

Jensen's birthday party was a huge hit!!! Thanks to everyone for attending. Jensen had a blast and enjoyed his pizza, cake and all the festivities. He received a ton of awesome presents ranging from nice clothes, toys and cars. It is hard to believe he turned one!!! January 19th at 8:45pm was his official birthday and time. He has been such a blessing and I love him more than anything on this earth!!! Everyday he amazes us and does something new and excited. He started walking a little after Christmas and now walks pretty much everywhere. Just yesterday he stood up from sitting without pulling up on anything!! He is considered a toddler now....but he is still a BABY to me!!! Tomorrow he is starting his Mother's Day Out. I am so nervous to leave him, but I am sure he will have a blast and I will bawl when I leave him. Until next time...........

It's been awhile since we've posted. On New Year's morning Jensen came down with a terrible stomach virus and was sick for over a week. Justin and I got sick as well. It was not fun at all!!! In addition, Mr. Jensen is cutting his 5th and 6th teeth. It is a terrible nightmare. He has gone from a baby who sleep 10-12 hours to one who wakes up ALL night long. I feel like I have a newborn again!!!! He has only slept through the night ONCE since the new year. Last night I slept about 3 hours!!!! YIKES!!!

Onto other things.....Justin started his wonderful NEW job today!!! We are so happy. This is the job he has been wanting for months and it finally has happened!!! Me on the other hand....I am still unemployed. Trying hard to find a job, but nothing yet. A few things in the works, but we'll see...... It is nice staying home and taking care of Jensen, but it sure is a lot of work. I commend all of you stay at home mamas!!!! :)
So, it is hard to believe our little baby is going to be ONE YEAR on Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This year has just flown by. It is unreal how quickly he has grown! I was watching my labor videos last night and I wanted to die. This time last year, I was 50 pounds heavier and majorly uncomfortable!! It was all worth it!!!! We have the most gorgeous, funniest, sweetest and smartest baby!!! He is everything and more than we ever could have dreamed. We truly are blessed!!!
I am posting his ONE YEAR pics I took today at the Mercer Arboretum by my house. I took them all myself. I guess my artistic side came out. The pics are absolutely gorgeous. He is one photogenic little man. I entered him in the Regis and Kelly Baby Photo Contest!!! I hope he wins!!!! :)
